While school is closed, we will try to support you in providing resources and ideas for you to use at home.  Below is a link to the information already sent home.

If your child is in KS1 or KS2 they should have received a login for the following websites:

BBC Bitesize Lessons

The BBC has issued daily lessons on a variety of topics which are available on the following link (www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/dailylessons) or through BBC iplayer/red button service.  There is a lesson for each year group so pick whichever is most appropriate for your child. 

Read Write Inc for Foundation Stage/KS1

Read Write Inc are uploading free online phonics and spelling sessions on Facebook and YouTube for children to watch at home.

There will be three short Speed Sounds and spelling sessions with a teacher every day. All videos will be available from 9.30am for 24 hours. 

Below are the lessons suitable for each group.

It is also advised that it would be worthwhile for you to use the previous set lessons as revision e.g. if you're working on Set 3, then have a look at the spelling lesson for Set 2 for some extra practice. 

There will also be storytime with Nick on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 2pm. These will be available to watch again and again on YouTube.

NUMERACY & LITERACY

In addition to those sent in the home learning packs, here a number of other good sites:

- Twinkl are offering free access to all parents.  It has a huge number of activities and worksheets.  Use the password: PARENTSTWINKLHELPS at www.twinkl.co.uk/offer

- Maths with Carol Vorderman is offering free access currently - www.themathsfactor.com

- Phonicsplay is a fabulous website, particularly for KS1, which is offering free access at the moment - www.phonicsplay.co.uk

- BBC Teach is great too as it has free curriculum based videos and lessons organised by age group and key stage - https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach

- www.ictgames.com is always a favourite with pupils

- Prodigy Maths allows you to set up a free account to access a good selection of games and it also has an app. https://www.prodigygame.com/ 

Internet Safety

Your child may be spending more time online than they previously have.  This website has some fantastic 15 minute activities for each Kay Stage which you can do with your child to remind them of the importance of staying safe online. There are pack for Reception, KS1 and KS2.

KEEPING ACTIVE

- Each week the the School Games Organiser network and Active Derbyshire are working together to
create and publish a weekly programme of activities to help support schools to assist
parents and carers to maintain an active routine for children and young people whilst at
home.  This will be sent out on the school's Parent Hub channel and published here for you to download.
