Cycle/scooter shelter

During the summer of 2021, Brampton Primary School secured an amount from the Healthy Pupil Capital Fund, which was a government initiative to distribute revenue generated from the Soft Drinks Industry Levy (Sugar Tax). The fund is intended to improve the children's physical and mental health by increasing availability of facilities.

We share Derbyshire County Council's vision in encouraging parents and children to choose more active, healthy and environmentally friendly ways of travelling to school, as an alternative to driving. One of the barriers against cycling to school was the lack of facilities for cycles/scooters to be stored securely during the school day.

We hope that by installing the shelter, this will help with sustainable travel and reduce traffic congestion around school.

The shelter has room for 6 bikes & 10 scooters and will be unlocked between 8.30am - 9.00am and again between 3.00pm  - 3.30pm when cycles and scooters can be accessed. If you require additional security, we recommend that you purchase a lock, these can also be bought from the school office.
